3 cups self-raising flour
60g unsalted butter, chopped
1/4 cup caster sugar
1/4 cup sultanas
1 1/4 cups Maxigenes Skim milk, premade
Pinch of salt
Jam and whipped cream, to serve
Preheat oven to 200°C and in a bowl mix together the flour and salt.
Rub butter through the flour mixture until it resembles fine breadcrumbs. Make a well in the centre and stir in the sultanas, sugar and milk until dough has the right consistency.
Lightly flour a flat surface and gently knead the dough with your fingers. Flatten it to about 2 cm thickness and cut the scones with a medium cutter.
Place scones onto a lined baking tray and sprinkle tops with a little plain flour. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
Transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm with butter or jam and cream, if desired.
